Scary to try, fun to watch

The 2006-07 Chevrolet U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix will ride into Breckenridge complete with the world’s top snowboarders competing in the halfpipe and nighttime exhibition events Dec. 14-16..
This is the premier snowboard series in North America, and spectators will be treated to top-notch action as US Olympic medalists Danny Kass, Hannah Teter and Gretchen Bleiler join Breckenridge Team Riders Chad Otterstrom, JJ Thomas and Steve Fisher in the first snowboard competition on U.S. soil this season. Teter, who won halfpipe gold in Torino, is going for a three-peat in Breckenridge after winning this event the last two consecutive years.

During the Day
the halfpipe event which kicks off with training on Thursday, Dec. 14. The action continues on Friday with halfpipe qualifying and wraps on Saturday with the halfpipe finals, which you don't want to miss. This is Olympic-quality competition, with out all the corny flag-waving.

After the Sun Sets
Last season, Breck had a nighttime quarter-pipe event in downtown. This year, the resort is raising the bar with another nighttime event held right off of Main Street in Breckenridge. Snowboarder Magazine’s editor in chief, Pat Bridges, has hand selected a group of world class snowboarders to compete in this special event. The nighttime exhibition starts at 7 p.m. in the Miner’s Parking lot, located between S. Park Avenue and S. Main Street.
