Another climber in trouble

The AP reports rescuers are trying to reach a climber on South Maroon Peak.

The Gunnison County Sheriff’s Department said it got a 911 call just after 8:30 a.m. about someone in trouble on the southwest face of the peak.

South Maroon is 14,156 feet high and the state’s 25th-highest peak. Hope the climber is OK.

BTW, anyone have word on that teen who was said to need help last night by the AFA? I haven't seen/heard a word about him today.

Per the USGS, the mountain is officially called "Maroon Peak".

Thanks for that add.

And, if you didn't see the update on the teen hiker, he was "severely injured" while hiking with his 12-year-old sister.

Rescuers found the 17-year-old and carried him out late Thursday night. They say he fell at least 20 feet and suffered head and facial injuries.

Here's wishing him a full recovery.
