According to Beeradvocate.com Anheuser-Busch is planning to introduce Ascent 54 -- an authentic German-style dunkel weisse (dark wheat) beer available on draught in select bars and restaurants in Colorado.Developed and brewed locally at Anheuser-Busch’s Fort Collins brewery, Ascent 54 is an unfiltered beer with "a delicate sweetness, complex taste and a surprisingly light finish."
The name seems to be a combo of 54 fourteeners and The Pikes Peak Ascent. Or maybe that's me being overly local.

That sounds like Fat Tire, which I've never understood the popularity of. For my money, if you want a sweet, unfiltered wheat beer, you can't do better than Widmer Hefeweizen.

Busch was good enough for everyone in my college. Why the hell is it no good now?

That's cause mountain kick ass. We can look out over all the flatlanders and just know that we're better than all of them.
Tho I do enjoy a nice Tecate whenever I'm prowling the slums of Tijuana, and a Pabst Blue Ribbon always goes down smooth anyitme I'm in the Midwest. Which is never on both accounts.
