Sure, most people in town are getting a little tired of the snow, but it's amazing how much perspective can change when you're looking at a snowy trail, not your driveway. And we have the best snow conditions right now that we've had in years. With a snow base of over two feet at Mueller State Park, park managers say it’s the perfect time to hit the hills and trails at the park.
“Mueller has the best snow conditions we’ve seen in years for winter recreation enthusiasts, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding,” said Park Manager Gregg Nootbaar.
Winter recreation opportunities for all levels of ability are available at the park. Maps of the trails at Mueller State Park are available online or in the Visitor Center, which is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. My wife and I just got back from a day of cross country skiing at Mueller State Park. It was beautiful. There was no one there, the temperature was perfect, snow was deep and we are going back on Saturday morning. If you get the chance, go on out.
