Goin' mobile

Are you part of the snowmobile crowd? We hear more skiers and riders are using snowmobiles to get to fresh backcountry powder. Kinda like monster surfers getting a tow-in off the North Shore.

Check out today's business section in The Gazette for a look at local snowmobile sales. Comment below if you're a believer, or otherwise.

I go into the backcountry for quiet and the beauty of nature. Getting to make some tele turns or whatever is a bonus. Every year I do a 4 day trip to the Eiseman Hut. We've had trouble with people using snowmobiles to get up on the ridge to board. It's annoying enough to hear the noise but some of them go well past signs that say no motorized vehicles past this point.

“A lot of people think they’re dirty and smelly, when actually they’re clean and help the environment,” [Kyle Lorash] said.

Spoken like a true industry supporter. And raw sewage benefits salmon too.

Zen, I was also surprised by the line “A lot of people think they’re dirty and smelly, when actually they’re clean and help the environment.”

Clean and help the environment compared to what? Bulldozers?
