The feds let loose the water from Glen Canyon Dam today in an experiment to help rebuild beaches along the Colorado River. I floated the river from the dam, through Horseshoe Bend, down a few miles, on a trip with my son and mom about 8 years ago. Absolutely gorgeous. You ride down through the tunnels made when creating the dam and come out on a ramp at the bottom, just above water level. Talk about feeling like an ant.
