China clamps down on Everest permits

China is denying mountaineers permission to climb its side of Mount Everest this spring, a move that reflects government concerns that Tibet activists may try to disrupt plans to carry the Olympic torch to the world's tallest peak. Read more.

Well, I for one believe it is about time China starts clamping down on something.

yeah, think about what would happen if they granted permits to everyone who applied...

that mountain would have more chins than a jenny craig convention.

Darn, there goes my plans of conquering Everest this summer. I was going to start training next week too.
