Snow in the mountains

Just got a call from friends in Summit County. The snow line is down below 10,000 feet there after a front pushed through. Also, in the high country, the Aspen are near peak. This weekend should be the best time to get out and see the leaf show. I was on Long's Peak yesterday, and the aspen are definitely all changing there.

Officials at Rocky Mountain National Park say the best leaf viewing there should be the first 2 weeks of October.

“We are pretty darn green, still,”
RMNP's Kyle Patterson told the Greeley Tribune.

“Leaves in some areas are just starting to change,” said
Reghan Cloudman, spokeswoman for the U.S. Forest Service in the
Canyon Lakes Ranger District, which includes the Poudre Canyon, a
prime viewing site.

Plenty changing in Summit County too. I rode up there Saturday and estimate 25% of the Aspen are changing now.

Teleken,
Did you drive out 24? What did it look like on the way?

Guanella Pass was going off on Tuesday. They have a nice new road up there too (on the upper half).
