you ask who really cares? well some of us who like reading about it and maybe who cannot physically do the things he does live vicariously through him. money or no money backing him do you atleast give the guy credit for what he has accomplished by skiing these peaks or maybe you can do the same thing and just choose not to write about it. either way - my hat is off to Davenport and I ENJOY reading about it.
What, did you think he should have done it for free? That he'd take a year off work to chase the snows, ski the peaks, and then bury the memories in the back of his private hall closet? You telling me that if a sponsor offered to pay your way so you could chase your dream you would turn it down in favor of another year in the cubicle?
I think this is a whole lot more than a publicity stunt. Most people don't take on projects like this and stick with it for the whole year unless they have a personal drive and desire to do so. That he was able to get a sponsor should not deminish in any way the huge accomplishment he is about to complete.

Who really cares? The whole project is no more than a publicity stunt for Red Bull. Just goes to show what a lot of money and a pro skier can do.
Huh. Hadn't noticed the whole Red Bull thing till you pointed it out. Thanks.
Personally, I love reading about these personal quests.
