Drifts of 5 feet!

Here in Manitou I didn't see much evidence of the blizzard of '06 - other than photos at gazette.com and on TV. My drive to and from the newsroom in downtown Colorado Springs was uneventful as well. But it seems anyone north, south, east or west of that narrow corridor was blasted.

What happened at your place? Did you get out amongst it - or open the door to a 4-foot drift and bag it? Reporter Deb Acord e-mailed a link to the Ute Pass Web cams -- www.utepasscams.com -- and this note: For once, that's what it really looks like! In a voice mail, she said there was no way she could get out down her Woodland Park street IF she could manage to get out of the driveway!

Zen, you're up there, too. What's it like? Jody, if you log on from WP-divide area, give us a shout. The kids must be LOVING this.

I've been in Frisco for the past 4 days, and was supposed to be heading home today. Right now I'm trying to figure out if that's even possible. But I'm not complaining! I love it.

Ahhh, Dave, Christian and I were talking yesterday about how we wished we were already in the mountains.

What's the scene in Frisco?

I talked to columnist Milo Bryant yesterday. He was still in Arizona (65 degrees) following the Broncos game - and wondering when he could drive back!

The sun's breaking through up here (Frisco). We really didn't get much snow from this storm. I would guess that we've had 3-4" in town since Wed morning.

Keystone is reporting 12" new, but Copper and Breck are only reporting 5" new.

I don't ski - I'm a snowshoer, so I'm rather excited to get home and play in my own backyard.

I live near Fillmore and there isn't that much snow. I left work around 4 yesterday on Research Parkway and had to get out of a waist deep drift. It took me 45 minutes to find a way to Woodmen Road that wasn't clogged with traffic.

I'm at work today with only one other person out of about 60. I posted some pictures of the area around work on my blog

My house, downtown? Not so much snow. The deepest drift is about 12 inches.

I'm hoping there's more snow over at the old Ski Broadmoor. I'm sneaking over there tonight to relive old glory days of skiing.

I expect it to be a fiasco.
