Victory for the little guy
The little guy can relax, at least for now. The National Park Service won't increase charges for wildlife photographers and other small independent filmmakers within the national parks. A new fee schedule that was supposed to begin this month would have charged filmmakers $150 a day, up from $200 a year. But a spokesman for the Department of the Interior said that rate was designed for big-time filmmakers. The newest policy says the little guys won't have to pay location fees.
