Snow for Waldo

We love snow, but we don't love snow as much as Waldo, our yellow lab. Through the years, he could sense snow before it happened and when it did, he would beg to go out and play in it. There, he would bound through drifts, bury his face up to his neck, and chase snowballs until we were worn out from throwing them. Waldo's 16 now, and he's deaf and blind, but when it snowed 3 inches yesterday, he knew. Outside at night, standing in the new snow lit by the nearly full moon, Waldo put his nose in the air and checked out the scene. He stood there, a look of bliss on his face, welcoming his favorite season. - Deb
