In the Gazette today, I wrote a story about how Men's Fitness named the Springs "fittest city in America" for 2008. I didn't have much room to talk about the criteria. Here's some of the things they use to judge:
|
Nutrition |
Sports Participation |
Alcohol Consumption |
TV Viewing |
Overweight/Sedentary |
Junk Food |
Air Quality |
Climate |
Geography |
Commute |
Parks & Open Space |
City Rec Facilities |
Access to Healthcare |
Motivation |
Mayor & City Initiatives |
State Obesity Initiatives |

We might be a town of retired right wingers but we sure have great outdoor options.
Must chap the buns of the editors of the Gazette to see the TOPS program getting kudos.
Nelson sez Ha-ha.
The editorial page editor, perhaps.
Please, let's not confuse the newsroom with the editorial department, which is a separate being.
