The Denver "Listening Session" with Deputy Secretary of the Interior Lynn Scarlett - mentioned in a Tuesday posting about $3 billion promised to the National Park Service - will be 5-7 p.m. March 21 at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel, 360 Union Blvd., in Lakewood.
"These sessions are a great opportunity to think big and act boldly to develop a plan to prepare national parks for the future," National Park Service Director Mary Bomar stated in a press release. From the session discussions, the Interior Department and the National Park Service will identify signature projects and programs, set specific performance goals and report to the President by May 31.
The public also may comment on the National Park Centennial Challenge online.
