Finally, after rumor and misinformation, Breck's new Imperial Express lift to the 12,840-summit of Peak 8 opened quietly today. Officially, it doesn't open until Monday, December 5.
Someone at the mountain told me conditions are spotty and the lift will not be running consistantly for about a week, but they are letting people on.

Sick lift.. its a quick ride up and the wind isn't too bad.. Imperial Bowl gets some of the deepest snow in Breck and it'll be interesting to see how popular it is on powder days. Watch out for exposed rocks.
