Calamari rings the size of tractor tires

You may have heard about a Colossal squid hooked by fishermen off Antarctica last month. It was the biggest squid ever caught, at 32 feet. Being a total giant squid geek, I was fascinated. Anyway, the story just keeps going. The squid was frozen and sent to scientists in New Zealand. They just got it yesterday and are at a loss of how to defrost 1,000 pounds of squid without having it turn to mush.

See the video here.

Argggh, the squid came in off the port side and me speared him with me spear. He dove to 1000 fathoms and I drug him up off of the ocean floor. He was as wide as he was long and had teeth the size of parking meters.

I love that you are fascinated by giant squid and fleeting cherry blossoms.

    The challenge: write that haiku!
